iRobot Wins DARPA Contract

DARPA has awarded iRobot a contract under their LANdroid program to produce the robots. These robots will supposedly provide robust communications by forming a mesh network in urban areas. Snake Robots To The Rescue

A snake robot named Aiko has been developed to eventually help rescue victims. The snake moves by pushing off of objects and can navigate rubble in collapsed buildings where wheeled robots would fail.
