Ewwww. Looks like Dave Matthews is back in town
Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! (have you guys seen that commericial where the guy is trying to leave a message for "Heather" and he goes "Heather, top of the morning to ya!"? Hee.)
It’s been a while since we’ve had a good OBD around here. And, with today being an off-day and all, I figured this was as good a day as any to jump back on the OBD horse. Simce most of the judge and lawyers were already sloshed by the time I got to court this morning (in retrospect, the tent with green beer and corned beef right outside the court house probably wasn’t such a good idea), I’ve had all morning to scour the internet for your viewing pleasure. We being today across the pond. Raise your hand if you told Sir Paul to get a prenup :
Former Beatle Paul McCartney today was ordered to pay nearly $50M to his estranged wife as their bitter divorce battle came to an end. Heather Mi...

You know you’re a celebrity when charities ask you to be their spokesperson. And you know you’re an attention whore when you tell the media you’d like to be one, but not the charity. According to a source for Showbiz Spy (read: according to a PR agent—what, you think this leaked?), Heather Mills “would love to pose” for PETA’s I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign as she, “prides herself in speaking up for those with... more

Everyone’s been up in arms about the planned Will Smith/Steven Spielberg Oldboy remake since the news broke earlier this month–including yours truly. Things seem to be moving ahead, though, with Spielberg meeting with writers about the adaptation.
FilmSchoolRejects spoke with Smith last night and he had some interesting news–news that may allay some of the concern about the project.
According to Smith, Spielberg didn’t acquire the rights to remake Park Chan W... more
See? I’m not ALWAYS eating. Sometimes I just sit in a chair.
Today the newly-vegetarian Prince Fielder and the Northern Beer Team roll into Mesa for an afternoon dustup with the Cubs.
But before we get to the game: a contest.
As you all well know, yesterday the Cinncinnati Reds, in a move that can only be described as a double pile-driver to Reds fans, signed both Corey Patterson and Jerry Hairston, Jr. to minor league deals. What’s more, the Reds signed b... more
Nod to Wrigleyville for the link :
According to Jon Paul Morosi of the Detroit Free Press, "the Tigers have had general discussions with the Chicago Cubs about acquiring bullpen help." Detroit’s pen has dealt with all kinds of injuries this year.
Morosi implies that Brandon Inge could be a fit for the Cubs if he could prove a capable center fielder. Seems a long shot though. In any case, Ryan Dempster could be a possible fit for Detroit. He&rsqu... more
Today’s a special day, I baked a cake.
"Special day?" You say.
"Why yes," I reply, "It’s LOHO’s first anniversary." (awaits spontaneous rendition of "Happy Anniversary")
You may be wondering what the appropriate celebration would be, and I think, in your hearts, you already know the answer. DRINK. Get out your flasks (I know you all have them) and raise a toast to the blog Carrie Muskat calls "home to a bunch of sick m-f-ers." ... more
The last time the Cubs and Diamondbacks squared off, it was not good. Arizona swept the Cubs right out of the playoffs, turning 162 games of hard work into three games of sucky baseball. Wrigley Field only got one game of playoff baseball, and it was not a good one. So just like that, the season was over, leaving Cubs fans empty and having to console each other with man-love.
There, there, guy. It’ll be OK.
Now? Payback time, bitches, spring-training style. Carlos ... more
