Forget the bombs. Forget the fighting. Forget the dead people. The surge is working. John McCain says so, after all.
So what if 21 people were killed and 32 people were wounded in a suicide attack in Iraq today… and the suicide bombing the day before … That happens all the time, right? Like the suicide bombing last Saturday at the shopping mall in New Jersey, and at the South Dakota rest stop, and at the fish market in Seattle, and at Disneyland…
Oh sure - suicide bombings are just a perfectly ordinary part of life in a peaceful, secure democracy. That’s how we know the surge worked… ’cause all the suicide bombings going on in Iraq are perfectly to be expected.

John Mayer was out dining with a male friend on Tuesday night at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, where, although the private exit was ready for him, Mayer decided to leave out the front door - right into the sea of awaiting paparazzi.
As Mayer ducked into his awaiting BMW, his bodyguard pushed a photog to the ground and then briefly grabbed him by the throat.
