Norton Councilman Tom Jones survived a recall election on Thursday. I drove through Norton last week and there were signs everywhere in favor of Jones and other ones that said "No Jones." That has to feel nice - people against you when you don't even have an opponent. If Jones lost, his replacement would just have been appointed so he wasn't running against anyone. He won by 52 votes.
Did you know that Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic House "leadership" team are trying to stop any member of Congress from posting opinions on any internet site without first obtaining prior approval from the Democratic leadership of Congress? Step one to the Fairness Doctrine. Dianne Feinstein has something going along these lines in the Senate.

Elvis Presley toured with Tom Jones during his career, but one time in Vegas he took their friendship further. Jones told British talk show host Graham Norton about an incident that left him a little unnerved:
“[One] night, I’ve come off stage and Elvis is in the dressing room. He said, ‘Tom, I’ve got a song for you’ and I said, ‘Okay great, but I gotta get in the shower,’ I’ve perspired so much. So I’m in the shower, and the water̵... more
But I might as well, before I forget. On Wednesday I was having lunch with my sister just by the Festival Hall, and we noticed that there was a bit of a commotion going on outside, a crowd, some security people, a few cameras etc. When I left I wandered over to see what it was and found that it was Sir Thomas Jones Woodward OBE, with a beard, singing some songs. Here’s one of them: ... more

Finally, we are here. Vermont, Rhode Island, and Texas also report tonight and we will have it all covered here. I will be reporting from my couch, Kyle from the Obama party at the Highland Theater. I have predicted a Clinton win all along, and I have strange feeling she is going to overperform in Texas. We shall see. Keep refreshing the page all night for the latest news - with the latest comments at the top of the page.

Two results from last night I want to discuss:
First, Hillary Clinton beat Barack Obama by more than almost anyone expected here in Ohio. I felt she would win and said so, but I thought her best case scenario would be around a 52-48% win. Due to the usual delays in Cuyahoga County (seriously, what is their problem), we won't know the exact tally until tomorrow probably. Clinton also won in Texas and Rhode Island. Anyone counting out a Clinton comeback was jolted by... more
Over the past couple of weeks, the Clinton campaign brought out their ace in the hole. They put Bill on the shelf and put Chelsea Clinton front and center. This strategy was subtle, but a difference maker. Highlighting their strong mother-daughter relationship showed a much softer side of the Clinton family. Chelsea was all over Ohio and got a lot of media coverage referring to Hillary as "my mom." During the debates, the camera would cut away to this beautiful young woman ... more
