In Theaters:
Body of Lies - Ridley Scott directs Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe in a spy thriller. Should be pretty thrilling.
City of Ember - An underground city ruled by Bill Murray is in danger. Looks about as strange and intriguing as Bill Murray.
The Express - Another uplifting football movie. This one about the first black man to win the Heisman.
Quarantine - I honestly thought this movie had already flopped in theaters and was coming out on video. The TV trailers make it look like a pay-per-view movie. Draw your own conclusions from that.
On Video:
You Don’t Mess With the Zohan - Adam Sandler hasn’t made a great comedy since Happy Gilmore. This one’s probably about as decent as all the rest.
The Happening - M. Night Shama-lama’s latest. I think he climaxed with Unbreakable, so that would probably make this his denouement.
The Visitor - A professor comes home to find strangers living in his home. This one ...

DESPITE playing with nine players, the Air21 Express gave the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters something to scare of before winning the contest, 112-101, Thursday night in the KFC-PBA Philippine Cup at the newly-built Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City.
The Express, who dropped to 0-2 win-loss slate, took a commanding lead in the first three periods but the Tropang Texters outran them in the pivotal quarter by unleashing a 32-12 run to register their first two victories in the early pa... more
The Phoenix housing market is divided with greater risk for further price declines for homes above $400,000.
July, 2008 - The Phoenix area housing market is literally dividing in two with buyer demand and home sales for properties priced under $400,000 showing significantly stronger performance than homes priced above $400,000. This disparity will mean continued pricing pressures for homeowners wishing to sell their homes above $400,000.
In terms of buyer demand for homes, “absorp... more

A lot of info has been put released this week about Windows 7. If you’ve not yet seen any info about Windows 7 then I’d recommend checking out Technologizer’s first impressions .
From the info that Microsoft has put out so far it seems like Windows 7 will have a pretty small system footprint allowing it to run on netbooks with 1GHz CPUs and 1GB of RAM. On the other had it will also support up to 256 CPUs. The small footprint will be a big change from the resource hogg... more

The Happening From: cinemablend.com Post Date: 2008-10-12 09:59:22
Strike three for Shyamalan is this absurd thriller in the vein of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds and John Wyndham’s The Day of the Triffids . Although not quite as laughable or embarrassing as the narcissistic Lady in the Water , The Happening fails just as miserably as a narrative and even more miserably with its wooden performances and tone deaf dialogue.... more
The Kings are putting Kyle Calder on the top line in place of Matt Moulson Friday night. You know that scene in The Happening where the blonde chick just stares forward while she slowly inserts a knitting needle into her neck? I'm pretty sure the Kings are doing that right now.... more
We tried to watch the Blu-ray version The Happening at the Deleon abode last night. That embarrassing admission aside, let me tell you what a complete pain in the neck it was to update the firmware on our player—which we needed to do to watch the movie—the Samsung P1400. It’s a good thing we don’t own any firearms here because I was fully prepared to go about back and give the player the Old Yeller treatment.
We first had to physically move the player so that ... more

In Theaters:
Ghost Town - The dude from the British Office sees dead people.
Igor - John Cusack is a cartoon hunchback with delusions of grandeur. I really want to see this, but that may just be all the visions of “Eye-gore” left in my head from Young Frankenstein.
Lakeview Terrace - Samuel L. Jackson plays a cop who doesn’t know how to play nice. Predictability ensues.

I think the Fall movie season might be starting. Finally, some decent movies!
In Theaters:
Burn After Reading - Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, and Tilda Swinton all mixed together by the Coen Brothers. Need I say more?
Righteous Kill - Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino team up again in a cop thriller. Neither of them have done much lately, but this one actually looks decent. I’ll probably catch it on video.
