There’s lots of daddy issues on "Lost," but none are as complicated as that of our (no pun intended) lost hero, Jack, and his father, Christian Shephard .
Daddy Dearest is actually the reason Jack ends up on Oceanic 815: Jack was transporting his father’s body back to Los Angeles from Australia, where Christian apparently died of an alcohol-related heart attack.
But from the very beginning of "Lost," fans have been confused as to whether Jack’s father is truly dead.
Jack had glimpses of his dad several times right after 815 crashed, but he assumed they were hallucinations. Then he followed "Ghost Christian" into the jungle one day, where he found part of the plane and Christian’s coffin.
With no body inside.
But what really got viewers debating was after Season 3’s game-changing flash-forward finale, when Jack talked about his father twice in the present tense.
Once when he’s trying to pass off a phony prescripti...

Kimberley Locke, the top female finisher from the second season of “American Idol,” chatted with me Thursday about her life for a story that will appear Tuesday in the Life & Style section of The Journal News.
Locke, as reality TV junkies know, also appeared on Vh1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” last year. Starting at 176 pounds, she lost 27 pounds in 100 days and famously clashed with Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on “Saved By The Bell” and made...

U.S. News & World Report has compiled an extensive career management guide for the rough economic times that might lie ahead.
And the entire guide is presented using The Office as object lesson.
I can just see how that editorial meeting went.
Reporter A (whispering): This editorial meeting is as painful as one of those conference room scenes on The Office.
Reporter B (also whispering): I hear you. The new guy reminds me of Dwight Schrute. Let’s prank hi...

Post Date: 2008-03-22 06:00:13
On Thursday, I sat down with “American Idol” alum Kimberley Locke for an extended interview. My Life & Style article about her is slated to appear in Tuesday’s edition of The Journal News and she’ll be singing her new single, “Fall,” on Wednesday’s “Idol” results show.
It takes guts to audition for “Idol,” and also, in Locke’s case, a few good friends to convince one to do so. Find out why she decided to take the ...
