Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has arrived in a region that neighbors South Ossetia, where the armed conflict is taking place. Putin said at a work meeting in Vladikavkaz that he could not imagine how it could be possible to make South Ossetia become a part of Georgia afterwards. “The actions of the Georgian authorities in South Ossetia are obviously a crime. It is a crime against its own people, first and foremost,” he said
