Hate to be debbie downer, but I think the man has a point. We have been absolutely cursed by injuries this year, and even when we aren’t injured we simply aren’t playing up to snuff.
Our offense seems to only work in the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th innings. They go completely dead during the middle of the game, allowing a pitcher like Ted Lilly to rack up a ton of strikeouts after looking like he could be pulled in the second inning last night.
Go ahead and add Jurrjens that that list of injured players.
A lot of people will blame the injury bug simply on bad luck, but at what point do you start to blame the organization? Did they really think they were going to make it through a full season with two 40+ year old starters and a third who hasn’t pitched in two full seasons?
