This little covered statement does hold up despite inferences otherwise. Yes, it seems that years prior to the groundbreaking US Constitution that included a Bill of Rights and seperation of powers, Ukraine had done much the same thing notwithstanding the onslaught from Moscow in the following 300 years. And yes, U.S. democracy has its basis in a Ukrainian Cossack .
