Vallie Bowman-English’s fifth annual Derby Day fundraiser….

After my oldest daughter graduated yesterday and we had our family dinner outing, Miguel and I headed over to attend Toledo Municipal Clerk of Courts Vallie Bowman-English’s fundraiser on Saturday night. It was her fifth annual “Derby Days” and I didn’t know what to expect beyond I knew I needed to have a hat. (smile) I’ve created a video montage of some the photos that Miguel took, with something just a bit different this time. Instead of the photo commentary I decided to share some of the basics about Vallie, like the interesting fact that she graduated early from Scott High school, as a junior. She’s also the first African American woman and attorney to be our Clerk of Courts. Vallie is running for re-election in 2008, at this point she is running unopposed, I’ve had the opportunity to talk with her a few times at other events we’ve both been at.
