I’m still struggling with finding a way to incorporate podcasts into my day; I’m drinking from the firehose as it is. For those that do listen to podcasts, perhaps this series will prove helpful. Apparently, the argument about VMware violating the GPL (I wrote about that here quite some time ago) has surfaced again. Gordon Haff promptly and rather cleanly squashes that concern . Well said, Gordon. Tim Jacobs posts a great article on matching LUNs between ESX and the VCB proxy server . This is just one of several good posts by Tim; here’s another one on VSS snapshots with ESX 3.5 Update 2 . This ...

Rumors had been building for the last few days, and in response VMware finally released the public beta for VMware Fusion, the Mac desktop virtualization product.  I’d written about my first impressions earlier; now I’d like to share my thoughts on the public beta build. Keep in mind that this is still a beta; it’s too early to make any sort of performance comparisons.  (Having said that, I’m not really worried about performance; Windows XP Professional... more
Using Samba in Linux-AD Integration

Suggestions to use Samba in Linux-AD integration scenarios appeared in the comments for the following articles: Linux, Active Directory, and Windows Server 2003 R2 Revisited Kerberos-Based SSO with Apache The idea was that Samba could be used to help automate the process of creating the appropriate service principals in Active Directory.  Previously, I had recommended the use of ktpass.exe and separate user accounts for each service principal (i.e., HOST/ or host/, HTTP... more
Changing the IP Address in Solaris 10 U3
From: blog.scottlowe.org

Most o... more
