Damn, this whole trading of baseball cards on-line has been a smashing success!
First, I look in the mail box and find a package from Steve G., of the great baseball card blog, White Sox Cards . I quickly rip it open and find 4 Jose Canseco cards (2 new, 2 repeats), a cool Miguel Cabrera card and two random cards; a Tigers card and for some weird reason, a Derek Jeter Upper Deck Masterpieces. I didn’t think much of the Tigers card but the Jeter was boggling my mind. When my wife arrived and saw the package she yelled, “this is the one we didn’t pull” and much like the end of The Usual Suspects, it all came to me at once. Steve G. watched the Masterpieces Video Box Break and noticed my wife didn’t pull her favorite player in the box, Derek Jeter, and was quite disappointed about it. SAN DIEGO (AP) - Jose Canseco was charged in federal court Tuesday with a misdemeanor offense of trying to bring a fertility drug across the border from Mexico. The former baseball star did not address the court during his initial court appearance, which lasted about five minutes. He was charged with introduction into interstate commerce of a misbranded drug, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a $1,000 fine.

I will admit that I am new to baseball cards of today and only restarted my collection late 2007. Maybe I am not up on all my lingo yet but I know a bad idea when I see one. At first glance I thought eTopps was a Topps release that put some of our favorite players in different uniforms and/or a unique on-line exclusive card set. Man, I cannot believe that Wax Heaven hit 10,000 views in less than 2 months. Of course, this means nothing since I have yet to be featured in Entertainment Weekly like another big-time Blogger has. Former Seattle relief pitcher, Julio Mateo pleaded guilty to charges that he “punched his wife in the eye, choked her, and bit her on the lip.” He has a nice career record of 18-12 with an E.R.A under 4. After the charges he was demoted to the minors and later traded to Philidelphia before finally being released in ‘07.
Any chances of a ball club picking him up in ‘08?
