The Municipal Art Society (MAS) had their intense redesign Coney Island workshop at the end of last week, and as promised they’ve released their ideas to the public today. This alcove studio at 60 Remsen Street has had a nice tune-up since the owner bought it for $315,000 last October (the kitchen, in particular, looks beautiful) but the fact that it’s on the first floor and, after all, only a studio make the price jump in the intervening eight months to $465,000 a little hard to swallow. This year the Department of Education changed its admissions process for pre-K’ers, according to the Brooklyn Eagle , and the shift means a lot of parents are grappling with the fact that their kids have been placed in schools far from home.
