In this week’s reviews, I’ve also included a couple of movies already in theaters (which due to Jewish holidays, etc. I couldn’t screen or review), the brilliant "Flash of Genius" and the lame "Allah Made Me Funny", plus this week’s new releases. "Quarantine" was not screened for critics, usually a sign that it’s a dud.
* " Body of Lies ": The Good News: This movie wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be . The Bad News: This movie was horrid and very anti-American.
I had mixed feelings about this movie, but overall it stank. I’ve never seen a movie that had that many explosions and killings that was this boring and pointless. Plus, DiCaprio just looks way too young to be the head of CIA operations in Jordan. It’s not credible.
The reason I have mixed feelings about the movie is that it’s about a CIA counterterrorism operative, Leonardo DiCaprio, who works for a fat, uneth...

Mazda said today it would buy back 6.87 percent of its own shares from Ford for up to $185 million, keeping them as treasury stock. Ford will raise more than $538 million from the sale and remain Mazda’s top shareholder with a stake of just over 13 percent.Â

Its been slightly more than 24 hours since I upgraded to the upcoming “bleeding edge” Intrepid Ibex edition of Ubuntu!

The BenQ MP771 is a short-throw projector that falls between these categories in both distance and price. It can project our test image size from a little over 4 feet away (51.5 inches), and it’s moderately priced.
The Good: Short throw. High-quality image with good brightness and contrast ratio. Analog and digital connections.
The Bad: Although sound quality is good, the volume is barely loud enough for even a small room.
The Bottomline: The BenQ MP771 offers both ... more
New Jersey weather is crazy. This morning it was upper 40s and chilly and I bundled up the baby before we headed out for a quick errand. By the time we were done, I was pulling off one of her layers and we were driving home with the car windows open. Which state is it that has that motto … “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute, it will change?” Kansas? Should totally become New Jersey’s motto too; it certainly fits.
So now with the colder w... more

The price of gas is finally going back down! Excellent!
The value of the Canadian dollar is going back to where I like it. Excellent² . Now I can finally start back making some money when I cash in those US dollar affiliate cheques. Gotta love affiliate marketing and getting paid in a currency that’s stronger than what you use.

Yet another hate crime (watch both consecutive video news reports) that gets very little reporting because the roles of perpetrator and victim don’t follow the Jim Crow America image the media loves to portray. The graffiti scrawled all over this South Florida woman’s walls included "White Bread" and "FTW," which I presume stands for "F-ck The White(s)."
A Ft. Lauderdale woman’s home was ransacked and vandalized with messages of ... more

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE BACKGROUND ON DENVER’S RACIAL DIVIDE ****
Many readers--and many parties around the country--are rightfully upset that the "Black National Anthem" was sung instead of the REAL American National Anthem at Denver Mayor John Hickenloper’s delivery of the State of the City address, yesterday morning.
But what makes it even more objectionable (as if it could be more objectionable... more

As readers know, I oppose charter schools and have for many years. They are merely vehicles to suck your tax money into funding bizarre religious ideologies and further separate America.
I’m all for a competitive marketplace, and that’s where school choice among public schools takes place and, perhaps, vouchers (but those, too, can go for religious schools disguised as secular ones). Charter schools--all based on certain beliefs and other mean... more
