Weekend in Salzburg

An excursion to Salzburg with the course had been planned all along and since Friday was an official bank holiday in Germany, me and Carl decided to go one day earlier. We stayed with my friend Su, who is born and raised in the beautiful Austrian city! It rained both days but we still had a great time : ) Salzburg Dome View of the Dome from Nonnberg Abbey View of the Alps and outskirts of Salzburg from Nonnberg Shopping in the Getreidegasse (where Mozart was born) “Alexander von Humboldt lived and worked in this house from October 26th 1797 to April 21st 1798, before his journeys around the world”. Alexander von Humboldt - scientist and explorer, travelled to Latin America among others. I bought the book about these journeys just the other day, Measuring the world , when Humboldt goes to some of the most unexplored regions of his time. I’m looking forward to reading it : ) ...
