This week, I listed some things on eBay. I was going to list more items, but after searching similar listings and seeing that if they sold, I might make just a dollar or two, I’ve decided to just skip the hassle and donate the cheaper items. We’re making plans to get rid of my old desktop PC and computer desk. Our computer chair will probably go, as well as an unused television. Though this is the largest apartment I’ve lived in, at 900 square feet, there still isn’t a lot of extra room. It feels great to lighten the load and get rid of things we don’t need. The high cost of eating healthier
From: sensetosave.com
Post Date: 2007-12-12 16:16:33

Be sure to check out this article in the New York Times, which was published last week. Researchers compared food costs by calorie. How do you get 500 calories for really cheap? Go to a vending machine, insert .75, and buy an Olde New England Brownie. Yum. Try to spend three quarters on 500 calories with real nutritional value. It’s hard. “Although fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients, they also contain relatively few calories. Foods with high energy density, meaning ... more

Last month or so, I joined Pinecone Research. They’re a survey company, and only e-mail you when they have surveys for you to complete. No spam. I receive prompt payment for my time in the form of a check, which comes in the mail. I might be getting product samples to try (who knows). I received an e-mail just now that Pinecone is looking for males to join their research panel (via e-mail). If you or anyone in your household is already a member of Pinecone, you canno... more
Two transactions at a BOGO sale
From: sensetosave.com
Post Date: 2007-12-12 10:02:42

I just got back from a whirlwind of errands and I think I’ve just about completed my Christmas shopping. Woo eee! Anyway, there was a BOGO sale at one store, and I want to explain why I had the cashier break it into two transactions. I bought four items, all buy one, get one half off. The prices were: $24.99, $24.99, $9.99, and $9.99. My first transaction was the two for $24.99, so I paid $24.99 for one and $12.50 for the second. (Incidentally, I had a $10 off coupon when I spen... more
Cooking without electricity

But, I do have a little fondue pot-esque ceramic baker that could probably do the trick: This handy little cooker was a wedding presen... more
