That’s according to BlogNewsNet , and who am I to argue! And we’re #5 for liberal blogs. The excellent California Progress Report is zooming to near the top of their charts, and, hey, Happy 5th Birthday to another fine California blog, Lefti on the News . Their rankings do not include the 800 pound gorilla of California political blogs, Crooks and Liars , probably because it has national stature and scope. I’ve known C&L editor John Amato since way before blogging, played a minor role in helping him start it and like others truly did not get that “video thing” when he, way ahead of the curve, started posting video news. He, of course, has turned it into an influential powerhouse that gets a zillion readers a day. I’ll be checking the BlogNewsNet rankings for other great California blogs I haven’t discovered yet.

An Israeli jet attacked the home of a Hamas politician because five Hamas militants were nearby. That the attack killed seven members of the politician’s family didn’t even rate an explanation or apology from Israel. Israel also said all Hamas leaders should be killed , an outrageous statement which was received with thunderous silence by US media. Were Hamas to say Israeli leaders should die, you can be sure our media would be screaming for blood. Killing civilians, either ... more

From the YouTube notes: John Gossop, farmer and author of Famine in the West, explains why food prices are rising and why there will soon be food shortages even in developed countries. Peak Food, oil and gas shortages, climate change, increasing world population with millions in Asia eating more meat so needing more land per person when there is less, water shortages, competition from ethanol and biomass, falling fish stocks and crop land losses are all threats to food security.
