Iraq is on the hunt for a new flag. That’s according to the AP, who are reporting that a design contest will be held to find a replacement for the old red, white, and green. a committee will select three designs to be presented to the parliament, which will vote on a new flag by the end of this year. Iraq’s Saddam-era and 2008 revised flag So why does this get a WTF? They just changed their flag in January! Also, is a new flag the number one concern? I think most Iraqis have bigger things on the brain than the design of the flag. In fact, shows like Alive in Baghdad will illustrate that is in fact the case. via the always-astute UnBeige ยป

The story comes from the NY Times and is pretty s...

To say that a soda is all-natural sounds like an oxymoron. I mean, point me to the soda fruit. And while you might argue that flavours like orange, grape, and even kola are from the earth, I think we can all agree that carbonated beverages are the creation of man, not nature. But perhaps we’ve found the missing link. Enter Pepsi Raw. Pepsi Raw is the cola giant’s forray into natural foods, boasting that the ingredients of their latest cola are totally and completely from the earth, ...
How Photoshop Stole an Election

This isn’t a political blog, per se, but lately the US elections have been intruding upon the design profession. The latest drama surrounds a TV spot from the Hillary Clinton campaign in which the image of Barack Obama was altered to exaggerate his ethnic features. The Daily Kos, a high-profile liberal blog, broke the story yesterday, but against the background of the primary elections in Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island, the media largely ignored it. However, I think this is certain...
