you know that block and a half of prime capitol hill real estate where sound transit is building an underground lightrail station when the station is finished the entrances will only take up a small part of the aboveground space and the agency doesnat know what exactly it will do with the rest.

many dog owners do not know that you can ride most buses with your fourfooted buddy. ive done some research about busing with dogs on the various transit agencies in the greater seattle area and thought i should share this knowledge with everyone. with high gas prices this might help others leave their cars at home for shorter trips.

yesterday afternoon we were trying to jaywalk across 15th when a 10 bus pulled up. we walked past it hoping to use it for blocking. another 10 bus pulled up.
then we looked down the street. another 10 bus was pulling up. thanks to a metro more frequent service upgrade the 10s run every 15 minutes during rush hour or even every 15 seconds if they all get stuck in downtown traffic.

sound transit has posted updated information for the new capitol hill and university district light rail stations. a few of the local bloggers have shown their disdain of the proposed art for the capitol hill station. you can see a video of the design here.
it appears that the uw station has no art installations to sneer at at least according to this artist rendering.

the first thing that struck us about the 3.15mile 1.6 billion project that is the university link light rail line is that it will have half of the projected ridership of the 16mile central link line. kinda makes us think they should have started with the u district capitol hill part first. as it is the central link goes online in 2009 university link in 2016.

currently the seattle metro bus tunnel is only open on weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. these hours mean that i rarely use the tunnel. most of my nonwork bus riding is on the weekends or night after 7 p.m.
the good news is that once the tunnel starts having the light rail go toandfrom the airport the tunnel will be open on the weekends
