yahoo answers the other reason is because we humans have overbred some of our dogs or overmixed some breeds that sometimes that mix does not come out well. for some dogs the tails is actually too heavy and if left intact so to speak it can actually damage the dogs back if left in its natural state it is too heavy or cumbersum so it is chopped.......
